Manage you corporate online presence
Marketing today is very different now than it was few years ago. And yet, most still approach developing strategies from the viewpoints they always knew. They develop for push, when in reality pull strategies are more effective and even scalable. approaches designed to take advantage of a connected society have allowed some brands and personalities to achieve strong growth. However there exists a deeper problem. Every marketing and communications company/consultant claims to be able to produce digital marketing results. And very few actually succeed.
- Companies fail because they want to see instant result
- Running it like conventional media
- Where is the relationship building
- Lack of influencers on your team from the netteratti
- They fail because they read their audience WRONG and continue to vest efforts in the wrong areas.
- Pull activates others organically, which of course cedes control. People on all sides continue to fear and misunderstand this(Common refrain “lets moderate and control”; “What if someone says anything negative about our brand”)
- Stringent approval processes created by corporate unable to adapt to changing times live on. Organizations are in many cases their own largest barrier to success.
- There is no concrete plan ,its “if they are doing it lets do it too” scenario
- Lack of Brand image they want to project need to understand this from the start and have a style behind the brand, along with substance to back it up. It also needs to click with key audiences.
- No critical path to acquire and grow an target audience.
- Lack of consistent voice/personality behind content
- Living and dying by data and hara-kiri of asking someone to do this as added responsibility (Guys this is a full time Job)
- Content is King or is it
To get it right we need to understand, NO, we need to comprehend and then understand…….PPC/SEO/SEM/BLOGS/TWITTER HANDLE/FB/LinkedIn/Slideshare/Directory Submission/RSS/Newsletters where do you want to take your company?
